This is the first time I use a lock with an escutcheon. Carving the slot for the escutcheon in the front of the carpenter’s tool chest takes one essential skill: patience! I am happy with the result being the first attempt even though the sides are not as snug as they should. #ToolChest #HandToolsOnly #WhitePine #Pine #Woodworking
I had a hard time attaching the trim to the lid of the carpenter’s tool chest; I noticed it happens every time I try to glue something that does not have proper joinery that prevents the pieces from slipping around. Everything was going well until I started sinking the nails in; at that point my miter started opening; I tried to correct for that, but instead managed to bend the head of a nail and even split my piece right at the miter. I tried to patch things up a bit with wood putty and this is what I ended up with. #ToolChest #HandToolsOnly #WhitePine #Pine #Woodworking
