The Dutch tool chest gets a padlock! #DutchToolChest #ToolChest #HandToolsOnly #Woodworking
Finally back to the internal fittings for the Dutch tool chest. I am trying out the fit of the tools rack before glueing on the back strip and ripping the rack to final depth (it was easier to chisel out the tools slots on the wider board). There is a 5/16” slot for detail chisels, a 3/8” slot for bench chisels, and a 9/16” slot for mortise chisels. #DutchToolChest #ToolChest #HandToolsOnly #Anigre #Woodworking
The tool rack and the runners for the sliding saw till and pairing chisels tray for the Dutch tool chest are ready; the rest of the fittings is all dimensioned (4 sides only so far) and getting ready for some dovetails. I had to be very careful with the layout since I barely had enough Anigre left over for these things. I had to resaw the 7/8”-thick board to get the 3/8” side pairs and 9/16” ends (with a bit of 1/8” veneer as a side effect), but the kerfing plane and frame saw made the ordeal pretty fast and easy. #DutchToolChest #ToolChest #HandToolsOnly #Anigre #Woodworking
