Last night I stayed up late drafting a plan for a #JapaneseToolbox. I did not know what a traditional Japanese toolbox was when I first saw it listed as a final-day optional project in the curriculum of #UWArtisanProgram that I took last year; it picked my curiosity, but we never had the time to do it at #theunpluggedwoodshop. Now that I watched #TomFidgen make a beautiful one for his essential tools, I could no longer resist and went out and got myself two 11-1/4”x3/4”x6’ boards of pine with a tight and straight grain figure I liked and started thinking about the tools I would want to put in it (three back saws, Jack plane, block plane, shoulder plane, router plane, and more in the bottom; drafting and marking tools and chisels in a till above) and the dimensions and proportions I needed and could achieve with the wood I bought. Tons of details to decide on! #woodworking #handtoolsonly
