Last week I was unhappy with the glueup of my dominoes mitered box and that made me want to explore mitered boxes a bit further. Today, I made a very simple square box with mitered corners, floating bottom, and no lid. I generally like to support my work on the bench top rather than cranking it into the front vise, but small pieces can be unsteady and easily chatter under the smoothing plane. This simple setup makes it really easy to hold my small box and support it against the pressure of the planing process and it only takes a few seconds to reposition the box to work on another side. #MiteredBox #Box #HandToolsOnly #MadeByHand #YellowPoplar #Poplar #Woodworking
