I did the last bit of trimming of the dowels and leg tops of the #SawBench using a low-angle block plane; that went really well, but revealed that I had sawn one of the legs below the surface of the top, so I had to plane the whole top about 1/16” and then redo all the chamfers around it. Almost done!
The first project we did at #UWArtisanProgram at #theunpluggedwoodshop was a pair of #ShopBents, but I never finished them there because I needed to take them back home by car; so, now it is the time; following the advice of #tomfidgen, I placed the middle stretcher at the same height as my #SawBench so I can use it to support longer pieces while sawing them.
With four coats of Tried & True Danish Oil, the #SawBench is now ready to be put to work.
