The draw-bored, double, through mortise-and-tenon joint in the vise of #TheEnglishWorkbench is all glued up and finished. I was afraid I might have a hard time hammering the dowel through the joint, but it actually went in without much trouble. #handtoolsonly #workbench #woodworking
Time for a coat of oil on the trestles and the underside of #TheEnglishWorkbench. Linda heroically helped me flip the bench and lift it on top of two WorkMates; maybe I am getting old, but I really appreciated being able to apply the finish without having to squat down to the floor or crawl under the bench! #handtoolsonly #workbench #woodworking
#TheEnglishWorkbench is complete! It’s been a long journey and a great learning experience; I have enjoyed every moment of it. I will let the finish cure for a bit and then it will be time to start using the bench and soon it will not be so pretty anymore :-) #handtoolsonly #workbench #woodworking
